Crystal repair broken Orrefors candlestick

The blue stem Orrefors candlesticks were broken in many places  both the candle cups and one of the bases. I needed to make replacement candle cups and reattach the base.

Waterford Crystal Repair Broken Lamp

The Waterford crystal lamp was  sent to me from Pennsylvania  for repair.  The base of he lamp was broken off and they didn’t have all the pieces .    There was a crack a running up the bottom and I had to carefully control the crack and turn it so it ran back to the bottom.   I didn’t want the crack to run up to the top of the lamp.

I looked and found a Waterford Crystal bowl to make the new base out of.

Cut off broken parts from the bottom of the  lamp.

I loop the crack back down and remove piece so it can be repaired.  The lamp is stable now by controlling the crack we minimized its in-pack.  Little cracks only stay little for awhile.

Smooth and polish the parts for reassembly .

Using a Waterford Crystal bowl I made a new base for the lamp complete with Waterford logo.

Drill a large hole in the bowl.

Crystal perfume bottle chipped and broken neck repair and new stopper

The chip was to large to be ground and polished. I needed to make a replacement  glass neck.  The small crystal  bottle also needed a new stopper.

Chipped Crystal Repair LaLique Glass Cross

The lead glass crucifix had a large chip in the base. A cross like his is on the grave of Rene LaLique  the founder of LaLique Crystal .

Steuben Crystal Candlestick Repair Broken Top

The dinner is over and you didn’t put out the candles .  They burn down and crack the tops of the crystal candlesticks.   I can make a new top cut off the old and replace it.

Broken Antique Glass Candlestick Repair

A every common event after dinner is to hear a little ping sound .  Yes you forgot to put out the candles and they burnt down and broke the top of your antique crystal candlesticks .  I used a pair of bobeches to recreate new tops.   Crystal repair requires a little out of the box thinking.

Cloudy Glass Bottle clean sick glass

Stains inside the bottle needed to be polished out.   The “sick glass ” devalues the antique cut crystal bottle.

Waterford Crystal Repair chipped candlestick

The Waterford Crystal candle stick was sent to a shop for repair.  They ground all for corners to match and did not polish them.   The customer was very upset and sent the piece to me to be redone .   I ground the corners back to a point per original design and polished them.

Broken crystal stopper repair for atique cut glass decanter

The stopper for a crystal decanter was broken and sent to me for repair.  I made the new blank first.  Then I ground and polished  it to fit the decanter.

Baccarat Crystal Repair Chipped Vase

The large Baccarat Crystal vase had a large chip in the base.  I could reshape the base but you would see the repair so I removed the base and made a new one.

I used a diamond saw to cut off  the chipped base of the Baccarat Crystal vase.

The base was polished before the new  foot was attached.

The crystal bowl was broken in many pieces .  His wife  said just through it a way.   I can repair the antique cut glass bowl so they can use it.

Daum Nancy glass figurine repair chipped and missing ear restoration

The ear was broken off and lost from a very expensive DAUM Nancy glass figurine.  I had to sculpt part of a new ear to fit on the dark amber Daum Glass horse .  Matching the very dark amber color was my first challenge . I made a dozen or more glass ears be for finding one I liked .    Daum glass  started with the notary Jean Daum      Daum  started making glass for watches and mirrors.            (1825-1885).

Antique Crystal Bowl Repair Broken Glass Foot

This bowl had a place of honor on grandmas dinning room table for over four decades .  There  it sat  with a stack of pennies taking the place of the missing foot. Grandmas birthday is coming up and wouldn’t it be nice to get the bowl repaired .  The local antique  dealers  and glass shops said it couldn’t be repaired .  What they should have said is they can’t repair it and they don’t know any one who can.

Cut glass bowl with a missing foot.   The leg broke off and was missed placed over forty years ago .

By casting a mold of one of the good  glass legs I was able to make a new glass foot .

We were able to give grandma her pennies back after bonding the new foot to the bottom of the antique glass  bowl

The local “experts ”  got it wrong .  It  can be restored .  The crystal repair projects I work on now come from all over the world.

Crystal repair is now high tech with the use of UV adhesives and high temp molds .  Antique  cut glass bowls like this one are repairable . Crystal repair has come a long way in the last thirty years .

The Steuben eagle was sent to me with two broken wings.  They broke off but it wasn’t a clean break.  I had to polish of what was left of the broken wings.
