crystal repair glass sculpture

We  were challenged to repair this badly broken sculpture brought in by a customer.  It was brought to us in many pieces.  The biggest hurdle of this project was to make it look like it was brand new and wasn’t repaired.  We implemented a new design element that used blue cobalt to meet the customer’s expecations.  Please see the repair gallery below.

When you do crystal repair, you have to make new pieces. This candle stick was broken many years ago and the broken piece was lost. I created a new cup cut and glued the new piece in. It saved alot of memories for the customer!

Antique Glass Globe Repair

Saturday, November 8th, 2008 Posted in All Repair Projects, Blowen Glass Replacements, Chandelier Repair, Crystal Repair Pictures, Glass Globe | Comments Off on Antique Glass Globe Repair

We were able to restore an old sconce by making a replacement shade for it. This was one of twenty matching lights in a very old home. The painter had broken an antique etched glass globe during the remodeling. Cut glass lamp repair is one of many things I have done over the years. I like the dirty, rusty, broken chandelier restorations the best. Missing parts and broken glass is no problem for our team.

Glass Sailboat Sculpture Crystal Repair Work

Saturday, November 8th, 2008 Posted in All Repair Projects, Glass Sculpture Repair | Comments Off on Glass Sailboat Sculpture Crystal Repair Work

This very large glass sculpture, I believe was made in Vince Italy, was brought to me for repair. The glass piece was top heavy and fell over. I used my Bridgeport Milling Machine to grind and polish the large pieces of glass. I have some pictures of the process.  I will post them soon.

The sail boat came out perfect and by changing the angle on the bottom just a little the piece is very stable and is no longed top heavy.
