Broken Waterford Crystal Compote Repair

A large Waterford Crystal compote with the seahorse stem broke right below the bowl. Some of the glass stem was still attached to the bowl.  We ground and polished the bottom of the bowl removing the pieces of the broken stem.

DAUM NANCY CHIPPED CRYSTAL VASE REPAIR

The crystal vase had two very large chips in the top. Grinding down the chips was an option but it would have looked very obvious . We made a replacement vase to attach to the old foot.

We removed the old broken vase from the foot.

 

Then we remove what was left of the vase from the foot.

Removed last little chip from the bottom.

New vase top to be attached.

The new vase added to old Daum foot.

Just add flowers.

A large beautiful glass fish was broken of the base and had three large chips to each of its fins.

It was an old repair . They made a replacement stem from plaster. I make a new stem from crystal and replaced the old broken stem.

Joined the old goblet,the new stem and old foot.   Now it matched the rest of the set.

The large crystal bull had a chipped and broken horn.  A big part of the horn was missing. I used the horn on the other side to make a pattern . Then I made a new horn.

The crystal lamp was broken and the base has a large  chip .  The solution was to reshape the base .

The crystal pineapple fell over and the top stem broke off.  It needed more than just a gluing if I used an adhesive to repair it you would see the restoration. I needed to make a new center stem to make a seamless  restoration.

When dinner is over  “blow out the candles “.  Time and time again people finish a candle lit dinner and retire to some place more comfortable  forget to  put out the candles.  Then the candles burn down and when the flame gets close to the glass candle cup it cracks.  This were I come in.

Cut off broken part and polish .

Create the new candle cup     crystal replacement piece

 

Attach the new crystal candle cup.

crystal repair broken glass Daum Nancy vase

This Daum Nancy vase is very expensive and holds a lot of sentimental value.  When it got broken they almost threw it out.  This vase is shipped in a very nice box that has foam rubber cut to fit the vase.  The form rubber was useful in the repair  . It gave me a pattern to make the new glass replacement part.   The shape and size of the crystal top mirrors the foam.

 

I removed the  broken crystal piece  from the green base. Then I make a replacement crystal vase to replace the broken one.

Antique Glass Repair Broken Crystal Oil Lamp

The antique glass oil lamp was broken and in need of repair.  When the  antique glass lamp fell over the glass nob on the bottom broke off. .  There was a hole now were it use to connect to the metal base.

 

 

 

Cut off the broken part and grind flat.
