When dinner is over “blow out the candles “. Time and time again people finish a candle lit dinner and retire to some place more comfortable forget to put out the candles. Then the candles burn down and when the flame gets close to the glass candle cup it cracks. This were I come in.
Cut off broken part and polish .
Create the new candle cup crystal replacement piece
Attach the new crystal candle cup.

The crystal decanter had a broken neck and the stopper was also broken . I will need to make a new neck and plug for the bottom of the glass stopper. First I will need to cut off the broken part of the neck.

If you let the candle burn down to the glass it will break. The flame got to close to the glass and broke the top. I have made many new tops for crystal candlesticks. The teardrop candlestick by Steuben is my favorite.
First step to cut off broken top.

I made the replacement top.
Replace broken top with new top.

The antique glass oil lamp has been in the family for generations. During the last move the glass was broken. The pewter was in good shape. We made a replacement glass .

The broken Lalique Crystal statue was a present give to a customer in his eighties. He received it when he was a young man. It holds great sentimental value and he wanted to repair it rather than replace it. Some one tried to repair it. It was covered in glue and a number of large pieces were missing. I will need to recreate the missing piece.
I use a foot from a broken Lalique compote to make the block .
Shaping the block to form legs.
The final step is to etch the glass to match. If you look close there is a small line were it was glued.

The antique glass oil lamp was broken and in need of repair. When the antique glass lamp fell over the glass nob on the bottom broke off. . There was a hole now were it use to connect to the metal base.
Cut off the broken part and grind flat.

The antique light fixture was missing a couple panels. We used an antique seedy glass to make the replacement panels.

The Waterford Bowl had a large chip on the base. The chip was to large to grind and polish out. I found a broken candle stick that had the same shape base. I removed the base from the damaged candlestick to use on the bowl.
Rough grind the bottom flat and polish.

The restoration of the old home included vintage light fixtures. The rust iron fixture had a couple of bent glass panels missing. The glass was a seedy glass. Seedy glass has a lot of bubbles and texture. Using a good panel I made a mold for bending the replacement curved glass.

The antique Lalique Crystal cigarette jar was broken years ago. The foot had a very large chip out of it. The chip was to large to be ground out so replacement was the only option. Over the years I have saved many pieces of glass. My basement is like a junk yard of glass. I found a Lalique Crystal foot in my glass junk yard.
The chipped glass jar was gram’s and sat on the coffee table for many years . The antique glass jar held cigarettes back in the day when every one smoked.
I cut off the damaged foot and prepared new foot.
Bond the new foot to old crystal jar.

Chipped wine glasses ,chipped water glasses ,chipped rock glasses, champagne glasses and chipped cordial glasses can be ground and polished to look like new. Crystal glassware is hand made and each glass is a little different size. Stemware from the major manufactures can be very expensive and some times the patterns have been retired so repairing is the only option.
Waterford Crystal , Baccarat Crystal , Lalique Crystal , Steuben Crystal , Orrefors Crystal , Tiffin , Fostoria , Kosta Boda, Cambridge, Stuard, Hawkes Crystal, Daum Crystal, I have repaired them all.
Right out of the basement, the antique candelabra was in total disrepair. It was removed from the dinning room and placed in the basement . The bronze frame work was broken in several places. The antique wiring was fared and need to be replaced. The globes were dirty and badly chipped.
It had a broken center column.

The cut glass stopper was stuck in the decanter when it fell over and broke. The break was in the center of the stopper were it necks down .
I decided to make a new center section and plug . I used a glass rod to make the new part.
The new plug was ground to fit the antique glass decanter.
The glass rod was make of borosilicate glass ( pyrex ) so I was able to fire polish the new stopper.
The antique crystal decanter is made from lead glass so I had to hand polish the neck were the new plug fits
The stopper is finish and the decanter that has been in the family for many years can be passes on .

This antique crystal bobeche is from a late 1700’s early 1800’s candelabra that was electrified. I needed to make two replacement bobeches . The first step is to make the glass blanks.
Rough cutting the shape is next.
Using smoothing stones the glass is given a 400 to 600 grit finish and ready for polishing.
The replacement crystal bobeches are marked for drilling the holes.
I also made replacement arms for this chandelier shown in the picture. I will post picture showing the process I use to duplicate the solid crystal arms.
