Antique Glass Decanter Repair
October 6th, 2009 by Marc Konys - posted in All Repair Projects, Antique Glass Repair, Blowen Glass Replacements, Broken Decanter Repair, GlueingsThis antique glass decanter from the 1880 was in bad shape. It had a broken neck and missing pieces from the lip. The customer was skeptical that I could repair an antique cut glass decanter in such bad shape. I can waite to forward this post to him with the before and after pictures of his decanter. This is a very old and very good cut glass decanter and it would be a shame not to repair it. I cut off the broken part of the neck and then made a new neck and lip. I attach the new neck and fit the stopper. If you didn’t know it was repaired you would pour a drink and just enjoy.
Many people don’t know this type of repair is possible please email this to your friends and family. Over and over I here I didn’t know you can repair glass I put it in the trash.
